Susanne has asked us not to tell when she started dancing. Its enough to say that she saw The Corbies founded and was already an advanced dancers at that time.
Among her merits she is one of the few Swedish dancers that has achieved "The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society's" teachers certificate. This took her many times to St. Andrews in Scotland for several hard courses. Susanne has had many well known Scottish teachers among them the legendary dance teacher and founder of RSCDS, Miss Jean C. Milligan. Another very well known dancer/ choreographer and teacher Mr. Bobby Munro she had the luck to meet in Sweden as he settled down here some years before his tragical death. Susanne has also been trained at summer courses at the famous Gaelic cultural school "Saol Mhor" on Skye. In 1997 the interest for Irish dancing following the successes of Riverdance, reached Sweden. Susanne was of course in the first line and started to learn this other dance style. She very quickly became a very good Irish dancer as well and has led numerous classes and workshops since then. Even if she likes Irish Dancing, the Scottish dancing is perhaps more of her true passion and in The Corbies she is the one that dominate that style. When it comes to performances Susanne has danced on most big stages in Sweden and she has also appeared on TV many times. Her specialities are of course Highland Dancing, but also Scottish Country Dancing, Cape Breton Step Dancing and Ladies Step Dancing. Susanne works as a children daycare provider. Together with Robin Susanne leads "The Corbies Dancers". |
