Dan joined the band in the fall of 1974 persuaded by Anders after very hard negotiations (it took about 1 pint). In the early days Dan was playing the Double Bass (a very practical instrument that can be used both as a ladder and canoe if needed).

Dan has his musical roots deep set in the most traditional part of Sweden. In Siljansnäs in Dalecarlia in the north of Sweden the Fiddle traditons are almost a part of lifestyle and his parents were both professional musicians.

In his youth Dan was working as a professional musician too and played in several bands. During that time he was accompanying artists like the famous Swedish singer and comedian Sune Mangs and the international known singer Josephine Baker among others.

Dan has also been a drummer in several Swedish Pipe Bands among them The Griffin Pipes and Drums of Malmoe in the far south of Sweden during his time there. After he moved back to Stockholm he joined up with The Thistle Pipe Band (where he met Anders) and was also playing for a while in The Pipes and Drums of the 1st Royal Engineers after The Thistle Pipe Band had changed into that band.

1997 Dan released a much appreciated solo album featuring music from the Swedish national poet C.M. Bellman, (The Swedish equivalent to Robert Burns) "Döden, Brännvin och Nymfer", (Death, Drams and Lassies). In this album he has arranged the songs in ways that shows his wide background and you can find influences from both Rock, Jazz, Latin, Classic and Folk music .

Dan is trained as an engineer, aero technician, pilot and shipping master. At the moment he is working with quality control of jet motors at Volvo Flygmotor AB.

In The Corbies, Dan nowadays plays banjo, flute and electric guitar. He is also the main force behind the musical and chorus arrangements.
