Anders is one of the original founders of the band. In 1973 he and Mårten Smith started the group when they were both members of The Thistle Pipe Band the first Swedish Pipe Band in Stockholm.
The name for the band they took from the old Scottish Ballad, The Twa Corbies, a title thought to refer to themselves. During the years Anders has been very active in all sorts of Scottish groups. He was first a side drummer and later Drum Major in several Swedish Pipe Bands among them The Caledonian Pipe Band and The Pipes & Drums of the 1st Royal Engineers where he is still "Honorary President". The Royal Engineer band is actually the original Thistle Pipe Band under a new name. As two of the other band members Dan and Lena, Anders also met his wife Susanne in the Scottish groups. In his case The Stockholm Scottish Country Dance Club. Together with Susanne he has also been a cofounder of The Stockholm Caledonian Dance Circle, a dance group for Scottish Country Dancing and Highland Dancing. At the present Anders works as "Whisky Ambassador" in his own company "World of Whisky" doing whiskytastings and lectures about whisky all over Sweden. Anders is also a Freelance writer in the Swedish Drinks Connoisseur Magazine "Livets Goda". In The Corbies Anders is "Lead singer" and presenter. |
